The Lenten season begins with Ash Wednesday service at church at noon.
Anne was baptized at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Denver, when she was seven years old with two of her three brothers. In that moment, she had a sense of being beloved by God and a call to serve in the church. She learned when she grew older that Baptism and the Eucharist are more than beautiful rites performed in churches. They transform our lives and prepare us to do God's work in the world.
Anne continued to explore church vocations, but the doors on which she knocked remained closed. Eventually, she accepted a call to secular ministry, to care for God’s creation through research and teaching. She has a Ph.D. in Biogeochemistry, which is ecosystem ecology. Her last job in the sciences was as Associate Professor in terrestrial ecosystem ecology on the faculty at Florida Gulf Coast University.
The call to serve in God's church persisted, so she entered the church's formal discernment path to ordination. She started her education at Nashotah House in Wisconsin in a masters distance learning program. She finished her M.Div. in residence at the General Theological Seminary (GTS) in New York City. Anne graduated from GTS in May 2022 and was ordained a priest on August 24, 2022. She served as curate at St. Thomas St. Petersburg in January 2022 where she assisted with the youth program, pastoral care, and served at the altar every week.
Anne's daughter, Madeleine, graduated in 2023 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is working as a data analyst.
